Comments: David's Java experiment uses aggregated information from a specific server "to create shapes from the connections and fluxes between the users and object of interests, between a public area and the particular extensions to the private areas where the users are placed in the network space." A little abstract, I know, but it is a rather intriguing visualization, based on information captured daily since January, 2005... [Resrc]

Description: video and new media art
Comments: "What effect does mergers and consolidations have on the music that surrounds us?" Andrew illustrates the answer with Power Trio, wherein each of three instruments represent a big music comglomerate. During the period following the approval of a big merger, the stock prices of the three companies controlling 75% of the industry fluctuated and "the incremental increases and decreases in the stock price are reflected in the rise and fall of the musical scale for that instrument." Music to my ears, and there's a lot of other interesting new media and video works to see here too...

Comments: Today's pick, a fotolog of places traveled, has its nice design touches though the archives seem a bit scrambled chronologically. Not sure if that's intentional but you can find the most recent shot via the thumbnails along the bottom. I first encountered Xose's site in December. Is this amazing or what!
