  Comments: The person behind the project sees those old television test patterns as universal symbols, which are, if you're over 30-years-old, probably "engraved in your spirit." The multicoloured image, also said to symbolize Orwell's Big Brother, "penetrated all the hearths, without being invited." No doubt, television has had powerful impact on our lives, and that subliminal image, an emblem of earlier days in the media, lives on in this artist's posters, stickers, and mosaics, found on the streets of Paris and showcased on the site. There's also a section of more general street art in and around the community – please stand by...

  Comments: Over there on the sidebar at the one-of-a-kind Ample Sanity, there's some Sites of the Month, thank you, which is where I found photojournalist Brent Shirton's site. The latest project, Dubai Labour Issues, in addition to a number of phenomenal photographs, includes in-depth background information on the country's "massively exploited million man work-force." Anyway, Stu launched the blog earlier this year on his 26th birthday and wrote the next day about getting older, which I also found most amusing (considering my own agelessness). Told ya we rock! LOL. I found the amusing tool via Peter's Style Grind, which just happens to be today's pick. Peter launched the web technology and design news blog just a few months ago and I think it's got great style. Still somewhat a work in progress, the site's monthly archives are temporarily unavailable at the moment, but the nifty tag cloud is a most helpful navigation alternative.
